Your energy storage project, from feasibility to commissioning
A Energy Services SA designs, sizes and builds battery energy storage systems: utility-scale BESS, C&I storage and hybrid solar-plus-storage plants. We also develop projects that we sell at ready-to-build (RTB) stage.
Three project scales, one core business
Battery storage is all we do. From an industrial site to a high-voltage-connected plant, the method stays the same: start from the client’s objective, size it right, build it properly.
Utility-scale BESS
Grid-connected battery container plants: ancillary services, market arbitrage and grid support.
Learn moreC&I storage
Behind-the-meter cabinets and containers: peak shaving, self-consumption, flexibility and backup.
Learn moreSolar + storage
A battery behind the same connection as a solar plant: less curtailed energy, better-valued exports.

We develop our own storage projects — land, grid connection, permits, engineering — and sell them at ready-to-build (RTB) stage to investors, power producers and utilities. With or without an EPC contract for construction.
- Secured land. Land-use rights established for the life of the project.
- Confirmed grid connection. Import and export capacity agreed with the grid operator.
- Permits granted. The project can move into construction without further procedures.
- Complete technical file. Documented sizing, drawings, diagrams and business case.
A BESS is not just another electrical project
Battery profitability is decided in the details: a few points of efficiency, a well-negotiated connection capacity, properly anticipated ageing.
- Sized for the real use case. Power, energy and cycle count follow from the revenue model — not from a catalogue.
- Designed for the full lifetime. Degradation, augmentation strategy and warranties are built in from the study stage.
- Compliant and insurable. Fire protection, noise, earthing and grid-operator requirements addressed up front.
- Single-point responsibility. One contract, one schedule, one point of contact through to handover.
The questions we settle with you
- Power and energy
- Which MW / MWh ratio fits your use cases — one hour, two hours, four hours?
- Grid connection
- Which voltage level, what import and export capacity, what lead times?
- Technology
- Which batteries, converters and energy management system (EMS) for your operating profile?
- Returns
- What revenue or savings, under which assumptions and with what sensitivity?
Six steps from idea to operating asset
Feasibility
Site, use cases, connection options and a first business case.
Sizing and design
Electrical architecture, layout, diagrams and specifications.
Permitting
Grid connection request, plan approval and building permit.
Procurement
Equipment selection, orders, factory tests and logistics.
Construction
Civil works, installation, MV / LV cabling and control systems.
Commissioning
Testing, performance verification, documentation and handover.
What a battery can do for you
A single system often stacks several uses. That value stacking is what drives returns — and what dictates the sizing.
Ancillary services
Frequency regulation and reserves for the transmission system operator.
Arbitrage
Charge when prices are low, discharge when they are high.
Peak shaving
Cut maximum grid demand and the charges that depend on it.
Self-consumption
Store surplus solar generation to use it later.
Connection relief
Avoid or defer a costly grid reinforcement.
Backup power
Keep critical loads running during an outage.
Frequently asked questions
What is a BESS EPC?
A BESS EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contractor designs, procures and builds a battery energy storage system and hands it over to its owner ready to operate. A Energy Services SA takes on this role end to end: feasibility, sizing, permitting, construction and commissioning.
What types of storage projects do you deliver?
Three families of projects: multi-MW / MWh utility-scale BESS connected at medium or high voltage, behind-the-meter commercial and industrial (C&I) storage, and hybrid plants combining solar PV and storage behind a single grid connection point.
Do you sell ready-to-build (RTB) projects?
Yes. We develop our own storage projects up to ready-to-build stage — secured land, confirmed grid connection, permits granted, complete technical file — and then sell them to investors, independent power producers or utilities. The buyer can entrust us with construction under an EPC contract or build with a partner of their choice.
At what stage should we get in touch?
As early as possible. Decisions made at feasibility stage — connection capacity, storage duration, layout — drive most of the cost and profitability. We also step into already-developed projects for detailed engineering and construction.
Where do you operate?
A Energy Services SA is based in Cornaux, in the canton of Neuchâtel, and works on projects in Switzerland and abroad.
A storage project to assess?
Send us the outline — site, target capacity, objective. We will come back to you with an initial assessment.
